Welcome to She Is An Immigrant 🙂

Hi! I’m Masha, founder of She Is An Immigrant!

Here I share my experiences as a traveler, artist, and expat, guiding other females through their own journeys of discovery and belonging!

Welcome to my little travel blog about my slow-paced adventures and immigration journey while I’m looking for the best place to settle, live life full of chocolate, love, and art.

I was born and raised in a village next to a big industrial city, but I always searched for more. Even within my country, I moved three times and for a whole year lived between two major cities just because I didn’t want to miss out!

Well, now I’m much older and after living in Russia for most of my life, then in Bali for 5 years, I am trying to settle in beautiful Argentina.

So, in this blog you will find my unfiltered views on travelling, reality of being a slow nomad and expat, and practical tips for anyone who’s also looking to start a new life in another country.

I want to help you find places to visit and plan it the best way possible (often the cheapest, too).

Application processes, banking abroad, handling health… this sh*t is challenging! At times extremely frustrating, but at the end – extremely rewarding to walk out on a Sunday, bump into a food festival, then walk around the lake, buy fresh groceries and get back home to enjoy a glass of wine or a book.

  • I will share my favorite travel gear, clothes, items I can’t live without
  • Tips and hoops I jumped through to get visas and residencies approved
  • My favorite places, cities, countries and fondest memories
  • Girl stuff: how I maintain skin care routine (I am a certified beautician in the past and certain countries have horrific water!!)
  • I hope this blog will inspire you to make the first step towards travels or moving abroad!
